About Us – Our Bodies

About Our Truck Bodies

Ace Truck Bodies specialise in refrigerated truck bodies and work in close association with specialist refrigeration companies to provide the cutting edge in refrigerated transport technology.

Appropriate reinforcement is installed to accommodate a variety of refrigeration units.

Doors

Rear and side doors are made with alloy trim, stainless steel hardware, camlocks and offset hinges to allow the doors to fully open and latch to body sides.

Rear door frames are manufactured from either stainless steel or hot-dipped galvanised steel, depending on structural requirements. This providing extra reinforcement for heavy-duty work.

External trim

Our external trim consists of a variety of heavy-duty aluminium angles and channel to doorways. We use a heavy duty base rail, giving maximum support to the walls of the body in critical areas. Polished and anodised are available. Alloy mudguards are fitted to each body as a standard feature.

Floors

We use an integrated multi-layered flooring system with hot-dipped galvanised steel cross members. We use a “C” section cross member which gives a greater area of insulation as opposed to the traditional RHS cross members whose design doesn’t allow for such wide coverage.

Our floors can be built to forklift rated specifications.

Advantages of our floors:

  • Sound structure to handle constant forklift loading
  • Uniquely insulated with polyurethane foam which increases insulation, thereby minimising refrigeration plant and fuel usage.

Only the highest quality structural ply is used in our flooring systems.

Materials we use

All our bodies are insulated with the highest quality fibreglass panelling incorporating fibreglass H beam ribs and high density polyurethane insulation.

Our panels are machine cut to ensure perfect joint fit, which in turn ensures better insulation.

Polyurethane insulation has many excellent properties, including:

  • High thermal insulation properties
  • High mechanical strength
  • High moisture resistance
  • Lightweight
  • Long term performance
  • Proven solution

Subframe

The steel subframe is hot-dipped galvanised, with full width rear step and docking rubbers. These galvanised options ensures a long life span for the subframe, even in highly corrosive environments.
